The Playground




The Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department wants to build a new fence around the outside of the playground. There are to be no fences on the inside. There are two companies that would like the job.

Fence All - Company

Fencing $0.30 a foot

ACME Fence

Fencing $0.32 a foot

Orders totaling more than $500 will receive a 10% discount



  1. How much fencing is needed?

  2. Which company should we pick to do the fencing. Explain your reasoning and show work.

  3. The Parks Department also want to plant grass on the triangular section of the park. If a bag of grass seed covers 500 sq. feet, how many bags will they need to buy?
