The Basketball Court




The basketball court is 90 x 60 feet

The foul lines are 15 x 10 feet

The diameter of the circle in the middle o fthe court is 10 feet

We need to paint the court and need to get some information about the area of the court.

  1. What is the area of the whole court?

  2. What is the perimeter for the whole court?

  3. What is the area of the rectangle at A?

  4. What is the perimeter of the rectangle at E?

  5. What is the area of the circle in the middle of the court? (Don't forget Area of a circle = Π x radius x radius. Π is approximately 3.14. The radius is half the diameter.)

  6. What is the circumference of the circle in the middle of the court? (Don't forget Circumference of a circle = Π x diameter)
