The Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department wants to build a new fence around the outside of the playground. There are to be no fences on the inside. There are two companies that would like the job.

Fence All - Company

Fencing $0.30 a foot

ACME Fence

Fencing $0.32 a foot

Orders totaling more than $500 will receive a 10% discount



  1. What is the value of the hypotenuse of the triangle with sides of 300 feet and 400 feet?

  2. What is the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 700?
    What is half of that circumference?

  3. How much fencing is needed for the outside of the whole playground?

  4. Which company should we pick to do the fencing. Explain your reasoning and show work.
